If you install a great list of programs with Add/Remove Applications; you can also uninstall it the same way you installed it. You can also uninstall it by using the terminal, which is shown later in this tutorial.

Now lets say you installed something with the Synaptic Package Manager, which isn't listed in Add/Remove Applications, like Opera for example. Well again you can uninstall it the same way you installed it.

Now lets say you installed a file not on the Add/Remove Applications list, nor Synaptic Package Manager. To uninstall that program you can use your terminal. (which is what I do most of the time)

So open up your terminal and put in one of the two listed below. (The second one worked for me)

sudo aptitude remove opera
sudo apt-get remove opera

There you go, you've now uninstalled whatever it in you wanted to uninstall.
