Well before we begin you can go here, and find some nice GDM themes you can download to change your logon.

Once you've downloaded you're new theme head to
System-Administration-Login Window

Now click on the Local tab, and click and drag the file you've just downloaded into it.

Now change your login to the new one you want.

Style: Themed with face browser
Theme: Selected Only

Now hit close, and when you go to log in it should take effect.
