Change or Remove Windows XP's Start Menu Text |

Before:
After:
Before we begin first off download, and install Resource Hacker.
Now open up ResHack, and open up the explorer.exe file into it. (C:\Windows\explorer.exe)
Head down to string value, 32, and click on 1033.
Now change start to something else, or just take the start text out, but leave the parenthesis. (I changed mine to Speed).
Once you've changed, or removed the text click Compile Script, and save it as w/e you want, just not explorer.exe. I saved mine as explorerspeed.exe (make sure you move this file to C:\Windows)
Now open up Registry Editor (Start/Run.../and type in regedit and hit the enter button)
Once opened up navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Click on shell, so we know it's selected, and right click the file, and now click on Modify.
Now change the name of the file to what you saved it as, so in my case it would be explorerspeed.exe, and then hit ok.
Now it's time to put it into effect. You can restart, log off, and log back on, or just do what I did.
Open up Task Manager (right click on your taskbar and click on Task Manager) end the task on explorer.exe and make a new task, and either navigate to the new file you made, or type it's new name down.
Hit ok, and you're now done.
You can also use Start Button Renamer, and/or StartBtn Renamer to do this as well.
Final Result:
