In my last tutorial I showed you guys how you could "Change or Remove Windows XP's Start Menu Text".

In this tutorial I'm gonna show you how to can "Change or Remove Windows XP's Start Menu Flag". Lets Begin!

First off download, and install Resource Hacker.

Now open up ResHack, and open up the explorer.exe file into it. (C:\Windows\explorer.exe)

Go to bitmaps/143/1033.

Now to remove the flag, right click 1033 and click on "Delete Resource".

Now to change the flag, right click 1033 and click on "Replace Resource" now the window below will pop up.

Click the "Open file with new bitmap" and select the new BITMAP image to replace the old flag, and once you've done that just click the replace button.

Now save the file explorer.exe as w/e you want, just not explorer.exe. I saved mine as explorerspeed.exe (make sure you move this file to C:\Windows)

Now open up Registry Editor (Start/Run.../and type in regedit and hit the enter button)

Once opened up navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Click on shell, so we know it's selected, and right click the file, and now click on Modify.

Now change the name of the file to what you saved it as, so in my case it would be explorerspeed.exe, and then hit ok.

Now it's time to put it into effect. You can restart, log off, and log back on, or just do what I did.

Open up Task Manager (right click on your taskbar and click on Task Manager) end the task on explorer.exe and make a new task, and either navigate to the new file you made, or type it's new name down.

Hit ok, and you're now done.
