Well for this particular tutorial, I'm running Linux Ubuntu 9.04, but this will work with other distros, I'm just gonna show you how I burned Damn Small Linux, and Slax on a blank CD, or Flash Drive (I'm using a blank CD, 700MB).
First off download the .iso image of an OS you want to run/burn on the CD.
Next you'll of course need a blank cd, and just import it into your computer.
Once imported you'll get a cd icon on your desktop, and a window should pop up.
Make sure you open it with a CD/DVD Creator, and select ok.
Now move the OS you want to burn/run onto that Blank CD, and then click the Write to Disk button.
Another window should pop up, just click the Burn button.
You'll now get another window to pop up, select the properties, if not already selected, and then click the burn button.
Now it should take awhile to burn, just be patient. (While it's burning a CD icon will be displayed on your Panel)
Now if you get an error at the end of the burn, you can view, or save the log. However I just hit close.
Now it's time to test it out, just simply restart your computer, and it should automatically detect the OS, and you can burn it or run it from there.
